September 2025–Present: Copyeditor/Proofreader (Contract), HMH

  • Copyedits and proofreads assessments for grades 3 through high school per New York State, Nebraska, and Maine standards, including accommodated materials for ELL students and students with disabilities.​

November 2014–July 2025: Content Manager (Marketing), Infobase

  • Helped launch first Infobase blog in May of 2020; by 2022, delivered over 75% of traffic from organic sources. Published more than 500 SEO-friendly blog articles between 2020 and 2025, up to 10 per month.

  • Wrote more than 150 blogs. Also planned blog schedule from March 2023 to July 2025 to complement marketing campaigns.

  • Developed Editorial Guidelines for the company blog and a style guide for the marketing department based loosely on CMS to help improve style consistency across all marketing content.

  • Wrote copy for, posted, and updated product detail pages and conference pages on company e-commerce site (WordPress).

  • Managed company social media platforms from November 2023 to July 2025, using Hootsuite to measure reach and engagement.

  • Proofread promotional content, including email newsletters, fact sheets, brochures, catalogs, magazine and web advertisements, book covers for eBooks, and publications, ensuring accuracy and style consistency.

  • Scheduled and set up registration pages for webinars.

  • Spearheaded program to submit Infobase products for awards, including researching new award opportunities and drafting award submissions. Two of the products submitted won awards: Learn360 (2025 EdTech Cool Tool Awards from EdTech Digest) and Credo Reference (Platinum distinction in LibraryWorks’ 11th annual Modern Library Awards).

  • Added SEO keywords, metadescriptions, and internal links to blog posts and alt text to blog images to make them more visible to search engines.

  • Managed content audit and editorial calendar.

January 2012–November 2014: Online Editor, Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News

  • Edited, proofread, and posted articles and other content on GEN’s website; added photos to online articles from Shutterstock. Also compiled and edited New Products, People, Calendar, and Clinical Trials magazine columns in InDesign and posted print issue online.

  • Wrote and proofread daily news articles (GEN News Highlights). Also assembled copy for daily and weekly newsletters.

  • Assigned taxonomy and keywords to articles and other content.

  • Reported bugs and checked beta version of site when necessary.

September 2003–December 2011: Assistant Editor, Core Collections, The H. W. Wilson Company

  • Cataloged and selected books, music, games and other materials for both print and online versions of the Senior High Core Collection, the Public Library Core Collection: Nonfiction, and the Nonbook Materials Core Collection based on review sources including Booklist, Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews, and Publishers Weekly plus the advice of consultants in the library field. Also proofread copies of the Senior High and Nonfiction Core Collections before publishing.

  • Created new subject headings for games based on the Sears List.

  • Took notes at and wrote reports on annual meetings with librarian consultants and visits to conferences.

  • Checked database title numbers daily for quality assurance (QA) purposes.

Obtained an MLIS with a Public Library certificate and a certificate in Archives and Records Management in May of 2003. Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.92. ​

SUNY Geneseo

Obtained a B.A. in English (Women’s Studies minor). Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.4 (Dean’s List). Was an All-American Scholar and a member of Phi Eta Sigma (honor society) and Sigma Tau Delta (English honor society).
